New Feature: Customize Text Message to avoid truncation

For most tenants, maximum text message length is set at 160 or 320 characters. To avoid truncation and to provide more information about what the recipient will see, there is new language and options to modify the text.

In the Message Customization section, if your text message exceeds the set length for your tenant, a warning message will show users how to modify or accept the truncation.

The warning message is:

Warning: This message has exceeded the maximum number of characters. Please resolve this before sending.

  1. Provide a shorter alert message (above).
  2. Provide a shorter customized text message (below).
  3. Click the "Accept This Preview" button (below) to automatically truncate the message as shown.

Tip:

Remember if your message text is too lengthy and it is a PUBLIC alert, you can click Add Link to Message under the Message Body to include a URL for the text recipient to click on to see all of the data, including pictures.
